Decoratly Alternatives (2026): Free & One-Time Options Compared

We'll say this first because it's true: Decoratly's $12.99/month for unlimited rooms is cheaper than our own unlimited plan, and its two free designs are one more than we give. Until at least August 2026 it also sold one-time passes — $3.99 for one room for a week, $9.99 for 30 days, no auto-renewal — and we compared it in depth in our full review, where that structure earned genuine respect. As of 26 September 2026 the passes are gone; one monthly plan has replaced them. So why do people search for alternatives? Three reasons that are all verifiable on its own pages.

• ·The free tier is two designs, watermarked, in six starter styles at web resolution — enough to see the idea, not enough to see your room properly.
• ·The passes are gone. Until at least August 2026, $3.99 bought one room for 7 days and $9.99 bought 30 days, no auto-renewal; as of 26 September 2026 the only paid option is $12.99/month for unlimited rooms, cancel anytime. Cheaper than our unlimited plan — but a subscription, and there's no longer a way to pay once for a single room.
• ·As of 26 September 2026, its pages disagree with each other. The homepage says the free designs are watermarked and need no email; the free-app page says 'No Watermarks' and makes step one 'Sign Up (30 Seconds)' with your email. The homepage claims 500K+ rooms redesigned, the free-app page 25,000+. And the refund policy still describes Pro access as a one-time $12.99 payment for 30 days while the homepage sells $12.99 per month. Probably stale copy — but when two pages disagree about what you're buying, check what checkout actually charges.

What you're paying for beyond the renders is the Room Plan — real paint matches (brand, code and LRV) for the colours your design uses, a lighting plan in real lumens, and the hanging and layout rules for your room. The honest limitations: on unlimited, Decoratly's $12.99/month undercuts RoomCalm's $15/month; its free tier is two designs to our one; and its 75+ styles dwarf our fifteen, which are curated hard because the product is calm rather than variety.

REimagine Home — more free tries before any payment

If Decoratly's two watermarked free designs weren't enough to judge by, REimagine Home's trial is the most generous in the field: 5 free designs, no card, and its pages state the free designs run on the same AI as paid ones. It keeps your room's structure — walls, windows, ceiling lines — fixed by default. It is subscription-based though (credit plans advertised $14–$99/month), so with Decoratly now on $12.99/month you're weighing one subscription against another; and REimagine Home's refund window is 7 days only if you've used fewer than 10 credits.

Interior AI — if you've outgrown consumer plans entirely

If the reason you're leaving Decoratly is client work — you're staging listings or producing options for other people — its $12.99/month covers the volume, and the question becomes the licence. Interior AI's $49/month entry plan includes 1,000 renders and a commercial licence. No visible free tier and a stated no-refund policy, so it's a considered purchase, but it's the professional tool of this list.

Or stay with Decoratly — honestly

If you'll be redesigning rooms every month and want unlimited: Decoratly's $12.99/month is cheaper than RoomCalm's $15/month unlimited plan, its 75+ styles and Style Builder are a bigger menu than ours, and two free designs is a fairer look than our one. That's the honest case, and it's a real one. Just go in knowing what changed: the $3.99 and $9.99 one-time passes it sold until at least August 2026 are gone, so there's no way to pay once for one room any more; the free designs are watermarked teasers rather than a test; and its refund page promises a 30-day money-back guarantee while still describing a one-time $12.99 purchase rather than the monthly plan the homepage sells. Double-check at checkout which of those you're buying.
